Pimp my manager
United usually get a lot of stick for not being especially sharp in the commercial arena, but they've come up trumps with this genius idea, which has had me giggling inanely for the last 30 minutes or so.
I'm not sure whether the, er, lucky, lady will get especially good value for her money, because judging by his post-match interviews the Brabinator will probably start repeating his chat up lines after about five minutes, then complain that there aren't enough dishes on the menu, and that he doesn't have enough money to pay the bill.
Still, if it goes well I reckon we can extend the principle to cover other members of the club staff. Who could resist dinner with Darler? Or a pint with Pitt? Or perhaps even a curry with Crow, although you probably wouldn't get very much food at that one.

Have you actually met or had a conversation with Gary? I was fortunate to have lunch with Gary & Paul Carden along with my wife a couple of weeks ago.I have to admit i was concerned how the conversation would go and how many 'you know's we would have to endure but found that both were very friendly, articulate and responsive to all questions put. Your view of Gary is totally out of line to the meeting we had with him. Not going to go into what was discussed but what is going on behind the scenes and away from public view is very interesting. It was quite apparent that the boards knowledge of football and finances is lacking and not working to the same goals. Our lunch in the boardroom lasted for 2 hours and could well have continued further. Both of us were impressed with our management team and would hope the fans give them the respect and time to achieve what they want.
Thanks for that Gary ;)
Seriously, no, I haven't had the pleasure, but I know people who have met him and chatted to him a bit and they're all very complimentary too. And I was impressed with him at the fans forum back at the start of year.
My post was mainly meant for comedic effect, however I have been getting a bit worried about him lately with his ever-changing team selections and formations, plus a few strange comments in the press. I can quite imagine all is not great behind the scenes, but at the same time you can only afford people so many rookie mistakes if they don't appear to be learning from them...
No its not Gary, just a fellow supporter that in time hopes to be contributing in other ways, lets say.
I do take your point about some of his decisions and felt there was some examples last night, eg in waiting till 2nd minute of injury time before bringing on Beesley for the ineffective Crow. He does need to be bolder in his decisions but there are things going on with injurys and players mentality that the public are not aware of. There is a version for the public and a real one. Keep the faith (for now anyway).
